FAQs

1. What is leak detection?
Leak detection is the process of identifying and locating leaks in your pool system, including plumbing, skimmer areas, and structural components. Our techniques include pressure testing, dye testing, and thorough equipment inspections to pinpoint the source of the leak.

2. What types of leaks can you detect?
We specialize in detecting various types of leaks, including those in underground pipes, skimmer throats, structural cracks, and equipment malfunctions. Our comprehensive approach ensures that we identify any potential issues affecting your pool.

3. How much does leak detection cost?
Our leak detection services vary in price based on the scope of the assessment. For example, a full swimming pool leak detection service is priced at ~$425, while additional services such as dye testing or specific line tests may have different rates. Please refer to our service descriptions for detailed pricing.

4. How long does the leak detection process take?
The duration of the leak detection process can vary based on the complexity of the issue. Typically, a thorough inspection can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. We strive to be efficient while ensuring a comprehensive assessment.

5. Is there a warranty for your leak detection services?
Yes, we offer a 30-day warranty on our full leak detection service.

6. What should I do if I suspect a leak?
If you suspect a leak in your pool, we recommend contacting us immediately to schedule a leak detection service. Common signs of leaks include decreased water levels, wet spots around the pool area, or unusual increases in water bills.

7. Do you test for cracks or drains during leak detection?
While our standard leak detection service includes pressure testing and dye testing in various areas, it does not cover testing for drains or cracks in the deep end. If you have concerns in those areas, we recommend scheduling a dive inspection.

  • Pool equipment with white PVC pipes and a filter in a yard setting, including a green hose connected to the system.

    Air Pressure

We first identify a leak in the plumbing by capping all of the return and suction lines. Once they’re capped we use an induction plug through the Jandy Valve to fill the line up with air and wait a few minutes to see if it loses any pressure.

  • Sonar

    Sonar, Hydrophones, and Sewer Cameras

Once we identify the line that’s losing pressure. We use our sonar equipment to listen for the leak in order to pinpoint it’s location. Once found we use a sewer camera in order to confirm it’s location.

  • Scheduling the Repair

    Scheduling the Repair

Once we locate the exact locaton of the leak. We’ll notify you and provide all the information regarding price and details of the repair. If you decide to move forward with the repair, you have 30 days to have your leak detection cost deducted from the repair.
